Food and Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil on Wednesday said that the State government has sanctioned an additional ₹100 crore for paddy procurement.
In a statement, he said the payment disbursal for the current season’s paddy procurement will resume soon.
The government had already disbursed the procurement price for 1,45,619.915 metric tonnes of paddy collected from farmers in the first crop season of 2024-25.
In the second crop season, a total of 366,610.498 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from 1,42,217 farmers thus far. An amount of ₹212.86 crore has already been distributed among farmers.
In addition to the ₹100-crore allocation, the government will release an additional ₹152 crore soon to enable the complete settlement of dues for all procured paddy.
