Minister for Transport, Youth Affairs and Sports Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy on Saturday urged the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, cadre and sympathisers from Annamayya district to participate in the Mahanadu conclave in large numbers.

Addressing the party cadre at a preparatory meeting at Galiveedu mandal headquarters, Mr. Reddy underscored the importance of the three-day Mahanadu scheduled in Kadapa district for the first time from May 27 to 29. “I expect every family member of the TDP from Annamayya district to attend and make the Mahanadu a stupendous success,” he said.

Elaborate arrangements were underway, which included food and logistical support, at Ramapuram for delegates traveling via Rayachoti of Annamayya district, he said.

Mr. Reddy highlighted the developmental works initiated in Annamayya district, particularly in the Rayachoti Assembly Constituency. “The Rayachoti region, which faced perennial backwardness, is now on the path of rapid progress at multiple fronts in just six months under the coalition government,” the Minister said.

The Minister said that several pending works related to drinking water in rural areas were being addressed promptly and an action plan was ready to bring Velugodu project waters to Rayachoti town. “The works on the Mandipalli Nagireddy Srinivasapuram reservoir are progressing on a war footing to address the drinking water needs of Rayachoti region,” he said.

Meanwhile, he also hoisted the party flag and paid tributes to the portrait of TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao.
