Collector distributes prosthetics to 130 persons at medical camp in Vijayawada

Prosthetic devices can build confidence in differently-abled persons, and those who lost their arms and legs in accidents to get on with their lives with courage, said NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha.

The Collector was speaking at a mega medical and dental camp, where artificial limbs and wheelchairs were distributed at the Basavapunnaiah Bhavan in Vijayawada on Saturday. The camp was organised by the NTR Trust and Sudheekshan Foundation. The Collector praised the two organisations for taking up the noble work. He distributed prosthetics to 150 people. During the dental camp, 300 people received free dental check-ups and medicines.

Coordinators for the programme, Bandlamudi Basavesvara Rao and Chigurupati Vimala, meanwhile, said that similar welfare programmes would be organised by the trust and the foundation in future more.
