AIADMK general secretary and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday said the 2026 Assembly election will put an end to dynasty and family rule in Tamil Nadu and see the victory of the AIADMK.

Addressing a meeting at Moongilpadi near Kallakurichi after inaugurating a 126-foot-long party flag post, Mr. Palaniswami called upon cadres to work hard for the party’s victory in the elections.

The party cadre should meet the people and highlight the achievements and major projects introduced by the previous AIADMK regime while exposing the “sad state of affairs” during the last four years of DMK rule in the State, he said.

Mr. Palaniswami said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had earlier boycotted the meetings of NITI Aayog held in Delhi and had visited Delhi now only for his “family interests” and not for the needs of the State.

When Mr. Stalin was the Opposition leader, he flew black balloons when Prime Minister Modi visited the State. However, after becoming the Chief Minister, “he waves white flag when the Prime Minister comes to Tamil Nadu”, the AIADMK leader claimed.
