Chief Secretary and Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand has emphasised the need to ensure consumer satisfaction on power supply and asked the DISCOMs to treat consumers’ grievances with utmost urgency.
He insisted that disruptions in power supply, low voltage, and transformer issues should be addressed promptly and effectively.
Addressing a review meeting held in virtual mode on Monday, Mr. Vijayanand said achieving consumer satisfaction must be treated as a top priority. He warned that any delay, neglect, or complacency would be viewed as dereliction of duty.
The DISCOMs should work diligently to align service levels with the government’s vision of achieving a responsive and citizen-centric power infrastructure, he said.
Mr. Vijayanand stressed the importance of being accessible, responsive, and proactive, especially during adverse weather conditions and service breakdowns, and called for strengthening operational systems, including customer call centres, voltage monitoring, and transformer maintenance, to ensure timely response and minimise the service gaps.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted 24×7 power supply and urged that officials to focus on transparent communication, swift resolution of issues, and a sustained effort to improve public satisfaction through high-quality service delivery.
CMDs of DISCOMs I. Prithvi Tej (EPDCL), P. Pulla Reddy (CPDCL) and K. Santosha Rao (SPDCL) and other senior officials took part in the review meeting.
