TDP national president and Chief Minister of Andhdra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu called upon the party leaders and cadres to strive to take governance to the last mile, while expressing his resolve to hold all those who indulged in large-scale corruption and irregularities accountable for their misdeeds.
“We have ordered investigations into all those acts of corruption and punish whoever looted the people’s money,“ he asserted.
Addressing the inaugural session of the TDP’s three-day Mahanadu here on Tuesday (May 27), Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP and its allies Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the BJP have won a decisive mandate in the 2024 elections and it was their big responsibility to live up to the people’s expectations.
He stated that the government was duly focused on the development of Uttarandhra (north coastal Andhra) and the Rayalaseema region and stressed the need for proper alignment between the government and the party (TDP) to achieve the best results.
The TDP has always used the mandate given by the people for the best interests of the State and welfare of the masses. It (TDP) had faced tremendous hardships in its 43 years of existence and was glued to its task of taking Andhra Pradesh forward with focus on poverty eradication and all round development.
The NDA has come as a big relief to the masses as it replaced the YSRCP, which became synonymous with vindictive politics, and during whose rule political murders were common.
Mr. Naidu said the government was striving to put the State back on the tracks with the help of the Central government by steadily overcoming the crisis that resulted from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP)‘s destructive rule.
The NDA government has been making incremental progress and could mobilise investments amounting to about ₹5 lakh crore through 76 projects in the last 11 months. This was possible as the investors believed in the NDA’s commitment to development and its capabilities.
The CM said the TDP would always do clean and positive politics and that the TDP-led government was fixated on developing the backward Rayalaseema region by focusing on the completion of pending irrigation projects. Priority has been given to the construction of the Polavaram project and the Godavari-Banakacherla project.
“TDP has been a successful model in politics and it accorded top priority to the socio-economic empowerment of the Backward Classes and other downtrodden sections,” he said, pointing out that the party had played a significant role in some major decisions taken by the Central government.
Further, Mr. Naidu said the government would firmly act when it comes to the maintenance of law and order, and keep up its fight against corruption which began with the slew of some high profile cases being inquired by the CBI. He reiterated that the Central government should de-monetize currency of higher denominations and lay greater emphasis on digital currency in order to curb the menace of corruption.
