Ten Hag, who was speculated to be returning to Ajax, has joined the Bundesliga outfit seven months after he left United.

The Dutchman has signed a three-year deal and will soon oversee his first transfer window ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Leverkusen look set to lose Florian Wirtz as talkSPORT understands Liverpool have held talks with his family ahead of a potential move.

They could pocket around £126million for the midfielder, which would offer plenty of funds to strengthen the squad for next season.

German outlet Kicker have reported two potential transfer targets for the summer who have already worked under the club’s new boss.

Leverkusen are said to be internally discussing Antony, who followed Ten Hag to United from Ajax in 2022 in an £82m deal.

The Brazilian has struggled at Old Trafford but enjoyed a resurgence on loan at Real Betis with 14 goal contributions in 26 matches.

Antony admitted he’s ‘very happy’ at Betis, but the move does not include an option or obligation to buy so he will return to United.

Garnacho is another speculated option included in the report as he closes in on an exit this summer.

talkSPORT understands United head coach Ruben Amorim has told the winger to leave the club.

The 20-year-old was linked with Chelsea and Napoli in the January transfer window but stayed in Manchester for the rest of the season.

United set an asking price of £60-70m, although it remains to be seen if Leverkusen will pay such a fee for Garnacho.

Ten Hag takes over a side who finished second in the Bundesliga this season and were crowned champions in 2024.

He arrives with three Eredivisie titles to his name with Ajax, as well as FA Cup and Carabao Cup wins at United.

The Dutchman previously worked in Germany at the Bayern reserve team where he won the 2013/14 Regionalliga Bayern title.
