Punters are people too.

And apparently they can out squat just about anyone in the NFL.

When people think weight-room warriors, they think mammoth offensive and defensive linemen.

Or physical freaks at the skill positions.

Rarely do people think of any sort of specialist throwing up big time weight.

It was only a couple of months ago that LSU tackle turned New England Patriot, Will Campbell, went viral during the pre-draft process because of his incredible 616 pound squat.

And everyone knows the legendary weight room stories of Philadelphia Eagles teammates Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts at this point.

Barkley is nicknamed Quadzilla for his infamous large quads, while Hurts has had numerous viral videos of him squatting up to 600 pounds and bending the barbell in the process.

However, the two Eagles may just be outdone in the weight room by a punter of all positions.

Los Angeles Rams’ Ethan Evans.

The Rams posted a video on X of Evans squatting a ridiculous 705 pounds for one rep.

For reference, Barkley squatted 585 pounds in his viral video, and Hurts was at 600.

Evans cleared both by over 100 pounds, and he seemed to do it with ease.

Not bad for a punter.

Evans’ reputation around the league, other than booming punts, is that of a weight-room grinder.

He can be found on social channels putting up heavy weight, whether that be squatting or deadlifting.

He isn’t your average punter.

Evans has been with the Rams since 2023, when Los Angeles drafted him in the seventh round.

He has been their starting punter for the last two seasons.

In 2023, Evans had a 49.22 net average, across 63 punts.

Last season, his average dipped a bit to a 46.0 net average, over 55 punts.

While specialists can sometimes be the butt of a joke in an NFL locker room, there’s no doubt anyone is messing with Evans in Los Angeles.
