Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has opened up about a surprising feeling considering her wealth: money guilt.

Despite living in a stunning California mansion valued at over $14 million with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, three, Meghan says she struggles with conflicting emotions about her financial success. In a candid conversation on the ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ podcast with Sara Blakely, Meghan revealed she suffers from a “scarcity mindset” and the guilt that often comes with having a lot of money.

“There’s lots of guilt mentality surrounding having a lot,” Meghan said. “And at the same time, there’s a scarcity mindset. It’s easy to attach to the idea of, like, “I’ll never have enough’.” She admitted she’d love to have a healthier mindset about money, a rare admission from someone with such a public financial profile.

The 43-year-old former Suits actress has recently made major moves in her business career. Alongside her podcasting efforts, she launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, in April 2025. This came just after the premiere of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, a project she described as a “U-turn moment” that helped redefine her career. Her partnership with Netflix has been a significant turning point in her entrepreneurial journey.

Meghan and Harry’s estimated combined net worth stands at about $60 million, according to Forbes. Their wealth is supported by a mix of media deals, branded ventures, and real estate, including their mansion. The London Times reported in September 2024 that Harry and his older brother, Prince William, inherited nearly £12 million following the death of Queen Elizabeth, their grandmother. Despite this vast fortune, insiders say the couple is cautious with spending. A source told Page Six in 2023, “They certainly don’t like to spend their own money. It’s always other people’s money.”

Meghan also described the challenges of being a solo entrepreneur, calling it “incredibly lonely” but also “liberating.” Since stepping back from their official royal duties in 2020, Meghan and Harry have focused on building their media and lifestyle brands. Last month, Meghan expanded her ventures by launching a podcast under Lemonada Media, which focuses on wellness and branded content.

Living such a public life while dealing with feelings of money guilt highlights the complexity behind Meghan’s success story. It shows that even people with millions can wrestle with feelings of scarcity and guilt around wealth. Her honesty on the podcast adds a relatable, human dimension to her high-profile lifestyle, offering insight into the emotional side of being wealthy in today’s world.
