Telangana Formation Day celebrations were conducted enthusiastically at the headquarters of all political parties here on Monday.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud hoisted the Tricolour at Gandhi Bhavan. He thanked party leader Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling the aspirations of millions of people by carving out the State of Telangana. Addressing the gathering, he listed the welfare and development initiatives undertaken by the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in the State.
The BRS marked the State Formation Day with grand celebrations across Telangana and abroad. Party senior leaders, MLAs, MLCs and activists gathered in large numbers at the party headquarters in Telangana Bhavan, where Opposition Leader in the Council S. Madhusudhana Chari in the presence of several senior leaders hoisted the national flag, the BRS flag and paid floral tributes to Telangana Thalli statue, Professor K. Jayashankar and Telangana martyrs.
BRS MLC K. Kavitha unfurled the national and Telangana Jagruthi flags at the new Jagruthi office in Banjara Hills. She paid tributes to the Telangana martyrs. Union Coal and Mines Minister and BJP State unit president G. Kishan Reddy unfurled the national flag in the state BJP headquarters.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao attended the Telangana Formation Day and BRS silver jubilee celebrations organised on a grand scale by BRS NRI USA in Dallas in the United States. After a protracted agitation for Statehood, Telangana came into existence on June 2, 2014, following the bifurcation of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
