Jadon Sancho looks like he’ll be ending up back at Manchester United after a disappointing spell at Chelsea.

The 24-year-old seemingly cut permanent ties with the Red Devils when he swapped Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge last summer.

Across three years at Man United, Sancho, who was signed for over £70million from Borussia Dortmund, scored just nine goals in 58 Premier League games.

He was exiled from the United squad after falling out with then-manager Erik ten Hag, leading to his loan departure to Chelsea.

The start to his spell in London went well, as he scored two goals and assisted three in his opening few games for the Blues.

However, despite scoring the 4-1 won over Real Betis in the Europa Conference League final, his form was inconsistent to say the least.

And the club have now reached a final decision.

Do Chelsea have to buy Jadon Sancho?

When Sancho made the summer switch to Chelsea, the deal was confirmed to be a season-long loan with an obligation to buy for £25million.

Reports claim that the Blues must pay the obligatory fee because they finished higher than 14th in the Premier League.

However, new reports suggest Sancho’s time at Chelsea is over.

talkSPORT understands that Chelsea can pull out of the obligation even though they finished fourth.

However, to do that, they must pay £5million to the Red Devils.

And it seems this is happening because the player and club couldn’t come to an agreement on personal terms.

Sancho had seemed to be enjoying life at Chelsea, but it looks like he is going back to Man United.

Speaking about his time at Stamford Bridge during the 2024/25 season, he said: “I’m really delighted that I’m here, playing football at Chelsea.

“Maresca makes us feel at home. It’s not easy for players to say that. We’ve grown into one big family.”

But it looks as if that will have no impact on Chelsea’s decision.

Whether Man United want Sancho back is a different question and he could be left in limbo once again, though talkSPORT understands West Ham are interested.
