Civil servants are the “true backbone of the nation” who play the crucial role in shaping the country’s progress and governance, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Maharashtra Governor Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao said on Sunday.
“India stands as a culturally vibrant and inclusive nation, embracing diversity and respecting all traditions. Despite existing social inequalities, our unity remains unshaken. At the heart of this resilience are our civil servants,” he remarked. Mr. Rao was addressing a felicitation ceremony organised for successful candidates of the Union Public Service Commission-2024 on Sunday.
Additional DG (Law& Order) Mahesh M. Bhagwat, a popular civil services examination mentor, said, “At first, aspirants worry about clearing the exam. When successful, they face the challenge of choosing the right service. After that lies the real test — professional responsibilities and ground realities. To face all of this requires more than just intelligence — it demands courage, commitment, and an unshakable passion for the nation.”
