Dita Von Teese is ready to write her life story, but she’s drawing a clear line when it comes to other people’s drama.

The 52-year-old burlesque icon told The Times that she wants to pen an autobiography but doesn’t plan on airing anyone else’s dirty laundry.

“I want to write an autobiography,” Dita said, “I just want to make sure I get it all right, because I think there’s a lot of stuff people don’t really know about me.”

But when asked if she’d go all-in with personal stories like Ione Skye, who didn’t hold back in her own memoir, Dita didn’t hesitate. “There are some people who I don’t want to expose their f****** s***,” she said frankly.

That level of discretion makes sense coming from someone who’s seen both Hollywood and rock’n’roll up close. Dita was famously married to rocker Marilyn Manson in the early 2000s, but they divorced just a year later. While Manson has faced serious abuse allegations from multiple women in recent years, Dita has remained mostly silent on the matter, until now.

She reiterated her previous statement that her own relationship with Manson didn’t involve abuse. “The details made public do not match my personal experience,” she stated. “Had they, I would not have married him.” She cited “infidelity and drug abuse” as the reason she left him, not violence.

Still, Dita didn’t shy away from talking about the broader issue of abuse in the entertainment industry. She acknowledged that she, like many others, has had her own MeToo moments. “My male friends, when all the MeToo stuff was happening, were like, ‘Did anything like that ever happen to you?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah!’” she said. “Every single friend I have has a story. You were just expected to go along with it or laugh it off.”

Now dating graphic designer Adam Rajcevich since 2014, Dita is currently starring in Diamonds and Dust on London’s West End. The show is another highlight in her decades-long career that blends glamour, performance, and sharp personal branding.

As for the autobiography, she’s taking her time to make sure it’s authentic without being messy. “I don’t need to expose people to tell my story,” she implied.

It’s clear Dita Von Teese isn’t out to stir the pot, but when her book finally drops, it’s likely to be as bold, stylish, and unapologetically honest as she is.
