Jennifer Aniston wants to take on Broadway. The 52-year-old actress, best known for her role as Rachel Green on Friends, recently opened up about her dream of starring in a stage production.

While she’s conquered film and television, the one box she hasn’t checked yet? A Broadway play.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Aniston shared, “I definitely want to do a Broadway play. That’s on my bucket list. But it’s finding the time and finding the right piece, the right material. But I absolutely have to do a play on Broadway.”

She’s not the only Friends alum with a Broadway credit. David Schwimmer starred in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial back in 2006. If Aniston follows through, she’ll become the second cast member to tread the boards on The Great White Way.

Jennifer Aniston’s desire to perform on stage isn’t new. Before fame hit her in the late ‘90s, she was part of several Off-Broadway productions. But now, with decades of experience and countless roles under her belt, she’s thinking about returning to her theater roots.

Aniston wouldn’t be alone in making the move from screen to stage. A-listers like George Clooney, who recently received a Tony nomination for Good Night and Good Luck, and Succession’s Sarah Snook, who won Best Actress for her one-woman performance in The Picture of Dorian Gray, have all been welcomed by Broadway audiences.

For Aniston, this possible Broadway debut also comes at a time when she’s become more reflective about life, aging, and personal growth. Speaking to Allure, she talked candidly about learning to appreciate her body and the aging process.

“We’ve got to love our bodies. It’s doing the best it can. It’s been with us since the day we started, so we can’t be too hard on it,” she said. “Of course, we’re all going to grow older, but how can we thrive as we grow older? And that is about giving your body the attention it deserves.”

She added that her 30s were her favorite decade so far. “I loved my 30s, but my 20s were nothing. I was a nightmare. I didn’t understand working out until my 30s and 40s.”

As fans wait to see whether she’ll finally make her Broadway debut, there’s no doubt Jennifer Aniston has the talent and charisma to light up a live stage. The only question is when – and what role will finally bring her to New York’s theatre scene.

Whether it’s a comedy, drama, or something totally unexpected, a Jennifer Aniston Broadway play is something many fans will be lining up for.
