Jay-Z made a surprise appearance during Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour stop in Paris on Sunday night (June 22, 2025), marking the couple’s first live duet in more than six years.
The 43-year-old singer welcomed her husband to the stage at Stade de France during the show, which was already packed with big moments. Midway through her performance of “Crazy in Love,” Beyoncé stepped aside, and that’s when Jay-Z suddenly appeared, jumping in to rap his iconic verse to the crowd’s roaring excitement.
Fans captured the moment on video, including one shared by Cardi B, who was in the audience. It quickly went viral, as the moment was completely unannounced and took everyone by surprise.
The energy didn’t stop there. Jay stuck around to perform more tracks with Beyoncé, including a fresh remix of “Drunk in Love” blended with “Partition.” He also performed his hit “N***** in Paris,” originally a collaboration with Kanye West, which had the Paris crowd losing their minds.
This marks the first time Beyoncé has performed “Drunk in Love” on the Cowboy Carter Tour. The last time the power couple performed together live was back in December 2018 at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 in Johannesburg.
But Paris didn’t just get one superstar moment this week, it got two. On June 19, Miley Cyrus made a surprise entrance for the live debut of “II Most Wanted,” her duet with Beyoncé from the Cowboy Carter album.
Beyoncé introduced her by hyping the moment to the crowd, saying, “I’m so excited because I wanted to do something very special for you guys. I could not do it without this young lady’s help, so I want you to scream as loud as you can. I want y’all for this icon. I’m your biggest fan. I’m so grateful to watch you, to sing with you, Miss Miley Cyrus.”
The two then performed the emotional ballad live for the first time, visibly connecting as they delivered heartfelt vocals. Miley later said it was a full-circle moment for her.
“I wrote that song, like, two and a half years ago,” she told W Magazine. “My mom would always go, ‘I love that song so much.’ So when Beyoncé reached out to me about music, I thought of it right away because it really encompasses our relationship.”
She added, “Getting to write a song, not just sing, for Beyoncé was a dream come true.”
With Jay-Z and Miley Cyrus both joining her in Paris, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour has proven to be a celebration of music, collaboration, and unforgettable surprises.
Fans are already wondering what’s coming next, and if more unexpected reunions are on the horizon.
