You can add more fruits and switch the biscuit flavors. You can also drizzle some chocolate ganache and make it an interesting version of the parfait.
Strawberry Cream Parfait is known for its simple ingredients, and I like to call it “Busy-Day Dessert”. There is no additional work involved in making this recipe, as there is no cooking involved, and in minutes, the dessert is ready.
The base is white fresh cream that is whipped to perfection, icing sugar that blends well with the cream, adding sweetness, and a perfect canvas for layering. Then come the strawberries, adding their own tardiness to the dessert while the Oreos add the chocolate crunch. The surprise ingredient is the crunchy cornflakes, playfully adding its vibe to the dessert.
The fun part was making this dessert with my little one. Excited as ever, she pitched in, while I was ever ready for any kind of help. While she whisked the cream, I was getting ready for the shoot.
By the time she crushed the biscuit with a rolling pin, I trimmed the strawberries and soak them in water for few minutes. She loves them, and this is her favorite dessert. And I was creating memories with her while making my favorite dessert.

Strawberry Cream Parfait Ingredients
- Fresh cream – I used fresh cream which comes in a 200 g pack. I have used an electric whisker to beat the cream.
- Powdered sugar/icing sugar – It is important to use quality sugar. Remove the impurities, if any, and finely powder them. This adds sweetness to the dessert. You can control the sweetness as per your choice. This is an important part, as sugar will help in balancing the tanginess of the strawberries.
- Strawberries – I make them when strawberries are in season. Trim the leaf part and chop it into small cubes. You can add a few chunks to the mousse as per your preference.
- Biscuits – I have used Oreo biscuits as they were readily available in my pantry. You can replace it with a normal or any other chocolate cookie.
- Cornflakes – This is the crunch part of the recipe. Crush them slightly before adding them to the dessert.

Expert Tips
- Whip the cream – It is always advisable to use chilled cream and a chilled bowl. Whip till you have soft peaks. Over-whipping may turn the cream grainy.
- Testing the strawberries – Taste the strawberries first before laying them. If you find them tart, you can sprinkle a teaspoon of sugar and let them rest for 10-15 minutes before using. It will release its juices.
- Layering – This step is essential as the layers hold their own beauty in the dessert. Go for a transparent glass jar where the layers can be seen. You can use a piping bag to pipe the cream.
- Crunch element – Set the whole dessert and add the biscuit and cornflakes before serving. For a healthier version of this parfait, add granola or muesli. The taste may differ, but it is delicious.
- Café style Parfait – You can drizzle some chocolate sauce or strawberry syrup on top. You can also add some chopped nuts for a complete café-style parfait.
Serving and Storage
It is best served cold. You can set it up and let it sit in the fridge for one hour before serving. Add the biscuits and cornflakes just before serving. If you are making it ahead of time, store the whipping cream separately. Assemble them before serving for the crunch factor. You can serve them as an after-meal dessert.
Assembling and storing them for long hours is not advisable.
