Dutch DJ and producer Maddix is kicking off September with a massive release, dropping his high-energy rework of Potatoheadz’s early-2000s rave anthem ‘Mix The Master’.

Out September 5 on EXTATIC Records and Revealed Recordings, the track is a thunderous revival engineered for today’s biggest festival stages.

Maddix, who has established himself as a master of big-room techno with raw rave energy, has breathed new life into the 2001 anthem while keeping its nostalgic spirit intact. The result is a modern festival weapon that captures the same euphoria that defined the golden age of rave, now reimagined for 2025 crowds. “I love old-school dance music and take inspiration from many tracks from the 1990s and 2000s. When I heard ‘Mix The Master’ I immediately knew I wanted to do something with this,” Maddix said. “I kept it true to the original as much as possible to capture that old-school vibe in a modern twist. It now sounds fresh for the dance floor again, and honestly, it gets the crowd going crazy every time!”

The release comes at a pivotal moment in Maddix’s career. His 2023 collaboration with Hardwell on Rave Till My Grave was a breakout moment, racking up millions of streams and igniting main stages around the globe. Riding the wave of his All Day Rave movement, Maddix has been a champion of marathon sets, relentless energy, and genuine connections with fans, making him one of the most in-demand names in modern rave culture.

With ‘Mix The Master’, Maddix continues his streak of dropping boundary-pushing productions that walk the line between techno, big-room, and hard dance. His genre-bending sound has earned the respect of tastemakers across the electronic globe, including Amelie Lens, Deborah De Luca, Hi-Lo, and Reinier Zonneveld. By teaming up with Potatoheadz, he fuses the old and the new into a seismic new anthem that pays homage to rave’s heritage while pushing its future.

To celebrate the release, Maddix has a hectic touring schedule across the rest of 2025. Future stops include premier international festivals and clubs such as Tomorrowland Brasil, Creamfields Chile, Dreamfields Mexico, and Dreamstate SoCal, as well as headline club shows across Europe and North America.

Maddix & Potatoheadz – ‘Mix The Master’ drops September 5 on EXTATIC Records and Revealed Recordings, cementing Maddix’s status at the forefront of the rave revival.
