The jallikattu events organised at Pullambadi village in Tiruchi district and Rangiyam in Pudukottai district on Sunday left 58 persons injured. As many as 734 bulls were released during the event held at Pullambadi with the number of participating tamers being 211.
Police sources said 33 persons were injured of which two were referred to hospital and the remaining 31 were treated as out-patients at the event venue.
The event at Rangiyam saw the release of 302 bulls with the number of participating tamers being 70. Twenty five persons were injured of which six were referred to hospital and the remaining 19 were treated as out-patients at the event venue, the sources added.
