Industries and Commerce Minister T. G. Bharath has called on Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders to work diligently to secure wins in all 33 wards in the upcoming Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections. He asked the party leaders and aspiring candidates to begin groundwork immediately and build strong connections with the people.
A Mini Mahanadu was held as a preparatory event in the Kurnool Assembly constituency ahead of the party’s state-level Mahanadu scheduled for later this month. On the occasion, Mr. Bharath garlanded the statue of former Chief Minister and party founder late N.T. Rama Rao, and honoured the Indian tri-service soldiers martyred in the recent Operation Sindoor.
Addressing party leaders and cadre, Mr. Bharath said: “Resolve people’s grievances and win their support in securing a party ticket. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had relied on public surveys to select MLA candidates in the last elections. All surveys favoured me as I managed to earn the people’s support.”
Highlighting the government’s development initiatives, the minister said: “The State is set to witness rapid strides in terms of development under the visionary leadership of Mr. Naidu.” Several industries are set to come up at the Orvakal industrial park, creating significant employment opportunities. We are moving forward due to the policy decisions of the government. At the recently concluded State Industrial Promotion Board (SIB) meeting, investments to the tune of several hundred crores of rupees were approved.”
Mr. Naidu, who last week visited Kurnool, assured an allocation of ₹6 crore towards the development of a Rythu Bazaar at C-Camp in the city. Mr. Bharath said: “The Chief Minister has also planned to set up one Rythu Bazaar in all the 175 Assembly constituencies of the State.” The minister announced ₹1 crore for the construction of a BC Bhavan in Kurnool.
Kurnool Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Chairperson Somisetty Venkateswarlu said: “Mr Bharath is working to resolve the problems brought to him.” He expressed confidence that Kurnool will achieve development under the leadership of Mr. Bharath.
