AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, on Sunday (May 25, 2025), announced that his party would stage a protest on June 2 opposing the waste-to-energy plant project in Kodungaiyur dump yard in Chennai.
The party’s women’s wing secretary and former Minister B. Valarmathi would lead the protest near the post office opposite to Greater Chennai Corporation Zone 4 office from 10 a.m. on June 2. The project was affecting the people in the neighbouring areas and posed a challenge to the public health, the former CM said.
In a statement, he also urged the DMK government to expedite works for setting up graveyard in Kodungaiyur and to speed up the ongoing infrastructure works in Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar.
