Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar and his Telangana counterpart Uttam Kumar Reddy discussed key issues relating to both the States in Hyderabad on Friday (May 23, 2025).
Later, addressing the media, Mr. Manohar said there should be good relations between the two States. “Assets’ transfer is necessary. Andhra Pradesh is fully handing over the A.P. Civil Supplies building, which spans 25,000 square feet, to Telangana. Andhra Pradesh will adopt technological advancements happening in Telangana,” he said.

“We are exporting rice from Kakinada to the Philippines, and we discussed the facilities required for that. Our aim is to benefit the farmers of both the States. The intention is to make high-quality rice available to consumers at an affordable price. In Andhra Pradesh, from June 12, fine rice will be supplied as part of the midday meal scheme in schools,” he said.
Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy recalled that it was under Mr. Manohar’s leadership that the Telangana Bill had been passed in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. He said the credit for it should go to Mr. Manohar, who was the Legislative Assembly Speaker then.
Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “We discussed about the civil supplies policies of both States and the technology being used. We also spoke about curbing illegal transportation of grain between the States. There is also a discussion on asset transfers. During bifurcation, half of the Civil Supplies building went to Andhra Pradesh. From June 1, the remaining portion will be handed over to Telangana. From now on, the food and allied departments will operate from this office. There are 16 flats in Shanti Shikhar Apartments, and they are also being allotted to Telangana.”
