Ariana Grande has left the internet abuzz again after she released a cryptic teaser that suggests something big in store for next year.
The Eternal Sunshine vocalist released a mysterious Instagram video in the same whimsical, futuristic style as her previous short film Brighter Days Ahead, which was released with the deluxe edition of her top-charting album. The teaser begins with a computer monitor flashing the message: “corrupt file found and corrected.” Above it, a filename displays – “08.06 // est_26.” The screen suddenly cuts to another message: “See you next year… Announcement loading…”
Although Grande held back from spilling the beans, fans are sure it indicates new music ahead. The Grammy winner has consistently assured her followers that music is high on the agenda despite her increasing number of acting ventures.
“Very silly of you all to think that just because I have my hands full with a lot of things that I intend to drop singing & music … !!! ” she captioned a recent Instagram post, reminding everyone that music has “always been my lifeline.” She went on to say that while her career might appear to be different now, she is “grateful, excited, and inspired” to balance out her projects. Grande concluded her message with a promise: “I’m working on a plan to sing for you all next year; even if it’s just for a little.
I love you.” The news follows a year of whirlwind activity for the pop icon. In early 2024, she released the deluxe version of Eternal Sunshine, which hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200. She also received her first Academy Award nomination for playing spellbinding Glinda in the movie version of Wicked.
With the eagerly awaited sequel Wicked: For Good coming out later this year, Grande has become one of the hottest commodities on both the music and movie fronts in short order.
However, she isn’t letting up. Aside from music and Wicked, she will star alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro in Meet the Parents 4, which Universal Pictures has programmed for theatrical release on November 25, 2026. For the time being, fans are left to interpret clues and wait with bated breath for Ariana’s official announcement.
