Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a record number of orders and outsourcing partners should support the organisation in meeting the targets, S. Prabhakar, Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchi Complex, has said.

Coal-based thermal power sector has seen a revival in view of the huge demand for power across the country and various policy initiatives of the Centre. The situation presented a big opportunity and challenge to BHEL, Tiruchi. Vendors should pitch in by ensuring sequential, timely supply, and scaling up the quantum and quality of products to meet the national targets, Mr. Prabhakar was addressing a meeting of business partners here recently.

Over 100 vendors executing fabrication and machining jobs in and around Tamil Nadu participated in the meeting.

Officials from the Outsourcing department of BHEL,Tiruchi, made a presentation on the business opportunities in the wake of the recently received orders in thermal power sector and various products and sub-assemblies of boiler island being outsourced by the company.

Presentations were made on various aspects related to outsourcing — engineering, quality, and logistics. Officials elicited the feedback and suggestions from the vendors during an interactive session, a BHEL release said.

K. Govindha Raju, general manager, Commercial, Marketing and C&PR, P. Samuthirapandi, General Manager, Material Management; B. Sanjeevi, General Manager, Outsourcing; and J.V.V. Aruna Kumar, Additional General Manager, Quality and Business Excellence, BHEL, Tiruchi; addressed the vendors.
