The endless legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has taken a new twist after a judge ruled to unseal secret emails and text messages related to the case.

The expose comes several months before the eagerly awaited trial, set to begin in March 2026.

On Monday, August 25, a New York City Court released a number of documents that reveal behind-the-scenes messages with Baldoni. Judge Lewis J. Liman directed last week that some of the texts and emails gathered by lawyers be decoded, resulting in a fresh batch of disclosures.

One of the materials released was a screenshot of a message that Baldoni, 41, had sent to his publicist. During the exchange, he pointed out what he called a trolling Instagram account aimed at his It Ends With Us co-star Lively, speculating that it was probably an imposter account. There were other text exchanges in which he was checking in with his PR department for news, with one aide saying that he and his wife Emily had been seen by paparazzi in Los Angeles – something Baldoni admitted he hadn’t even realized.

The documents also revealed that Baldoni enlisted the help of Street Relations, a communications and consulting firm, for three months of services totaling $30,000. Further details pointed to a message from Jamey Heath, Baldoni’s business partner at Wayfarer Studios, who mentioned that a “crisis management team” had been hired at a staggering cost of $9 million.

These revelations pile on top of the heated conflict between the two actors. Lively, 37, initially made the complaint against Baldoni in December 2024, accusing the actor-director of harassment. The new proof can potentially have an impact on how the case progresses as both parties prepare for trial.

Neither Lively nor her representatives have as yet commented on the new documents. Baldoni has not publicly discussed the judge’s ruling or the material of the unsealed messages.

The trial, scheduled for March 2026, will be closely watched considering the high-profile status of both actors and their working past together. The unsealed texts and emails until then are, however, a key milestone, ramping up public attention over one of Hollywood’s most spoke-of courtroom showdowns.
