Blake Lively is pushing back against allegations she made against journalist Megyn Kelly as part of the actress’ ongoing lawsuit against director Justin Baldoni.
Contrary to Kelly’s public comments, a representative for Lively maintains she never subpoenaed the ex-Fox News anchor.
“Ms. Lively has never served a subpoena on Megyn Kelly at any time during this litigation,” the spokesperson explained, insisting that any claim to the contrary is not accurate. The representative added that Lively is only seeking discovery as part of her harassment and retaliation claims against producer Baldoni, producer Jed Wallace, Melissa Nathan, and the Wayfarer Studios group.
The denial followed Kelly, 54, informing listeners on her SiriusXM show, The Megyn Kelly Show, that she had been subpoenaed by Lively. Kelly said her lawyers were able to have the claimed subpoena dismissed, labeling it an intimidation tactic. She proceeded to refer to the It Ends With Us actress, 37, as a “narcissistic bully,” claiming Lively blames others for the public attention she receives.
Kelly confirmed that she and Baldoni have the same lawyer, Bryan Freedman, but strongly denied that he was dictating her reporting on the case. “Newsflash, Blake: I reached those conclusions completely organically,” Kelly stated live. “No man had anything to do with it.”
In her remarks to Page Six, Kelly went on to claim that Lively subpoenaed her past employer for communications and documents related to the lawsuit. Kelly described Lively’s move as one to cover up embarrassment, stating, “Typical Blake Lively – once again obfuscating to try to avoid embarrassment for her own inappropriate behavior.”
Lively has allegedly served subpoenas on several other media personalities, including conservative commentator Candace Owens and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. Hilton, 47, said he can’t afford a lawyer in the case and must defend himself in court, with a hearing set for September 2.
The court fight between Lively and Baldoni has been building up since Lively filed her complaint charging the actor-director with sexual harassment and retaliation. Baldoni has denied the charges all along and at one time brought a $400 million countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, charging defamation and extortion. That countersuit was dismissed in June.
Both Lively and Baldoni are going head-to-head in court in March 2026, where the case will receive a lot of attention in Hollywood and elsewhere.
