Bournemouth head into the final day of the Premier League season having missed out on the chance to secure an unlikely place in European competition for the first time in the club’s history on Tuesday night following their defeat at the Etihad Stadium.

The loss at Manchester City leaves Andoni Iraola’s side five points behind eighth placed, who hold the last possibility of a spot in the Conference League but would still need other results to go their way.

The Cherries will still be fighting for a top half finish, which would be just their second time achieving the feat in the club’s top flight history, and a win should see them over the line with west London duo Fulham and Brentford sat just one and two points above respectively.

The south coast side have lost their last two matches heading into Sunday’s game, and prepare for the visit of Leicester with just one win in their last five, and have struggled even more at home of with six defeats in their last nine matches, including just one win, in front of their home fans.

This weekend will see Leicester play for their final Premier League game for at least another year having had their relegation back into the Championship confirmed after just one season in the top flight.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side have picked up just 25 points from their 37 Premier League matches so far, though seven of those have come in their last three games with back to back home wins to close out the season, though their resurgence has been far too little too late.

The Foxes make the trip to the south coast for their final game of the season without a win away from home since January, picking up two points out of a possible 21 on the road since that victory at Tottenham.

Leicester have won their last two games against the Cherries but have earned just two points from their last six league games at the Vitality Stadium.
