The Anti Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch recently cracked down on drug peddlers in Bengaluru and seized drugs worth over ₹60 lakh in separate raids.
During a raid on an apartment in Bengaluru, the sleuths caught two individuals red-handed and recovered 1.2 kg of marijuana, 220 grams of hydro ganja worth ₹13 lakh from them.
According to the officials, the accused are BBA graduates from Kerala working in a private firm in the city. The duo wanted to make quick money and resorted to peddling drugs, police said. The accused confessed that they sourced the drugs from their contact in Kerala and were selling them to their customers.
In a separate incident, CCB officials raided a godown in Thalaghattapura on Kanakapura road on Saturday and recovered tobacco and nicotine products, pan masala, and gutka packets worth ₹61.8 lakh. The products were stored without the required permit and were being sold across the city illegally, the officials said.
The Banasawadi police recently raided a shop in HRBR Layout and seized items worth ₹70,000, including 201 e-cigarettes, 297 flavoured hukkah products, and foreign brand cigarettes. The shopkeeper is absconding, and efforts are on to track him down, the police said.
