The results of the Tamil Nadu State Board Class 11 public exams were declared on Friday (May 16, 2025), with 92.09% of the 7.4 lakh students passing — an increase from the previous year. In 2024, of the 7.3 lakh students who wrote the exams, 91.17% had passed.

Ariyalur district topped the list this year, with a pass percentage of 97.76, while Erode came second with 96.9%, and Virudhunagar third, with 96.23%. Over 4 lakh girls and 3.3 lakh boys wrote the exam this year, with the girls registering a pass percentage of 95 and boys, 88.7. As many as 11,025 students did not write the exam.

Private schools outperformed others, registering a pass percentage of 98.03. As many as 8,446 students scored centums in the exams, with computer science seeing the highest number of centums, at 3,535.

Of the 9,205 candidates with disabilities who wrote the exam, 8,460 passed. A total of 125 prison inmates wrote the exam, and 113 of them cleared it.

According to a press release from the Directorate of Government Examinations, a provisional certificate can be obtained from the www.dge.tn.gov website from May 19. Candidates can also apply for a copy for their answer sheet and reevaluation from May 20. Candidates can also apply for supplementary exams, which will be held on July 4, and the exam time table will be released on Friday, the release added.
