A group of unidentified persons on Friday (May 16, 2025) night brutally attacked a couple near Nimmanapalle mandal headquarters on the outskirts of Madanapalle town of Annamayya district.
The couple, Errappa (30) and Shyamala (26), were intercepted by the assailants when they were returning home after attending an errand in Madanapalle.
The police said that the attackers had arrived on two motorbikes and allegedly attacked the couple with knives before fleeing the spot. Old rivalry between the two families was suspected to be the reason behind the attack. The villagers who rushed to the couple’s rescue immediately rushed them to the Government Area Hospital in Madanapalle. The couple’s condition is said to be critical.
The Madanapalle rural police registered a case and took up investigation. The CCTV footage from the vital junctions between Nimmanapalle and Madanapalle and surrounding areas was kept under surveillance. Two special teams were formed to track down the accused.
