Millions of Americans may be in line for a serious payday thanks to a $14 million class-action robocall settlement involving Credit One Bank and its affiliates. If you received unwanted calls from Credit One between 2014 and 2019, you could claim up to $1,000, and you don’t even have to be a customer to qualify.

The case centers on Credit One allegedly violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by using automated dialing systems and prerecorded messages without getting users’ permission. That includes both current customers and people who had no relationship with the bank at all.

Why Is Credit One Paying Out?

The lawsuit claims Credit One placed thousands of robocalls related to marketing, debt collection, and informational messages without prior written consent. That’s a major violation of the TCPA, which was created to protect consumers from being spammed with unwanted calls and texts.

And here’s the kicker: some people who received these calls weren’t even Credit One customers, calls were allegedly placed to wrong numbers or recycled phone lines.

While the bank hasn’t admitted wrongdoing, it’s agreed to a $14 million settlement to resolve the matter. That means eligible people can get paid without going to court or proving damages.

Am I Eligible?

You may be eligible if:

  • You received an automated or prerecorded call from Credit One or its affiliates between 2014 and 2019
  • You did not give prior consent to receive these calls
  • You can verify that the phone number contacted belongs to you

You do not need to be a Credit One customer to qualify. If you’re not sure, you can still file a claim and have your phone number verified through call records.

How Much Can I Get?

Payouts will depend on the number of valid claims filed. But estimates suggest eligible individuals could receive between $100 and $1,000.

The fewer people who file, the bigger your potential payout. You’re not required to submit documentation, but if you do have phone logs or billing statements, you could receive a larger amount.

How to File a Claim

The claim window opens once the court grants final approval of the settlement. When that happens:

  1. Visit the official settlement website (link will go live after approval)
  2. Enter your full name, contact info, and phone number(s)
  3. Provide any known dates of the calls (optional)
  4. Submit any documentation (optional but helpful)
  5. Sign a declaration under penalty of perjury confirming your claim
  6. Choose your preferred payment method

If your phone number appears in Credit One’s call records, you may receive a Claim ID by email or mail, which can be used to speed up your application.

What’s Next?

Here’s the rough timeline once the settlement is approved:

  • Settlement Website Launch: 30–45 days after court approval
  • Claim Window: Open for 60–90 days
  • Verification Period: 3–5 months post-deadline
  • Payouts Begin: Around 6–9 months after approval

So don’t expect a quick check, but this could be free money with minimal effort.

TL;DR: Your Robocall Refund Checklist

Received a robocall from Credit One (2014–2019)
Didn’t consent to it
Can verify the number belongs to you
File online once the website is live
Get up to $1,000

Don’t leave money on the table. Keep an eye out for the official claim site, and be ready to file, you could walk away with $1,000 for calls you never wanted in the first place.
