David Beckham is known globally for his legendary football career and influence in fashion and philanthropy, but this Father’s Day, the spotlight was on something more personal, his role as a dad.

The 50-year-old former England captain marked the occasion on June 15 with a touching Instagram post, calling fatherhood “my most important and favourite job in life.”

Beckham, who shares four children, Brooklyn (26), Romeo (22), Cruz (20), and Harper Seven (13), with wife Victoria Beckham, used the post to show his love and commitment to his kids. “I’m so proud of all of you and like daddy (sorry boys) tells you every single day, I will always be here for you no matter what,” he wrote, adding a heartfelt nod to his wife. “Mummy thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father. There is no greater gift in life than making me a dad.”

The post got plenty of love from fans and family alike. Romeo Beckham responded in the comments with, “Love you always” and a line of white heart emojis, echoing the strong family bond they share.

Victoria Beckham, 51, also shared her own tribute just hours earlier. The fashion designer and former Spice Girl told her 33 million followers, “Happy Father’s Day to the best daddy there is! You always lead with love and our four beautiful children are a reflection of that. We all love you so so much!!”

These emotional family moments come shortly after another major milestone for David, receiving a knighthood for his contributions to sport and charity.

Reflecting on the honor, he said, “Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British, I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour. To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career, and literally a boyhood dream come true.”

He continued, “I’ve been so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I’m grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment. It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.”

The combination of personal and professional milestones makes this an emotional time for Beckham. While the knighthood cements his legacy in British history, his words on Father’s Day show that, at the heart of it all, David Beckham sees being a dad as his greatest achievement.

No matter how many goals he scored or awards he’s won, it’s clear that for David Beckham, fatherhood remains his proudest title.
