Don Diablo is back and making major waves again, this time with a gritty, emotional banger called ‘Amsterdam’ released under his bold alter-ego CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ.
Hot off a completely sold-out North American tour that tore through cities like New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Chicago, and Montreal, the Dutch DJ has landed his debut on Monstercat with a cinematic, grime-tinged single that’s already turning heads.
‘Amsterdam’ is more than just a new track, it’s a tribute to the city that raised him and a signal of Don Diablo’s unstoppable evolution as one of the most forward-thinking names in electronic music. The single blends distorted vocals, drum & bass punch, and an emotional core that hits hard. Don even said it himself: “This might be my favorite CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ record so far.”
To celebrate the release, Don is heading back to his hometown for a rare, intimate show at ‘Amsterdam’’s Paradiso on September 19. It’ll be his first homecoming gig in the city since he sold out AFAS Live back in 2018. This time around, he’s ditching massive stadium visuals for a more personal connection, taking it back to his roots in a major way.
But Don hasn’t stopped pushing boundaries. This year alone, he’s dropped a collab with Nelly Furtado, made his debut on Australian tastemaker label Sweat It Out, and marked 10 years of his groundbreaking HEXAGON imprint. His summer calendar is jam-packed with appearances at Sziget, Untold, and Medusa festivals, plus dates in Ibiza, Barcelona, and more.
Still reigning high at #15 on the DJ MAG Top 100 list, Don Diablo’s legacy stretches far beyond the decks. He’s remixed and collaborated with a who’s who of pop and hip-hop royalty, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Madonna, Rihanna, The Chainsmokers, and even Travis Barker. Beyond music, he’s a digital art powerhouse, breaking records with his GΞNΞSIS NFT and turning heads at art spots like the Venice Biennale and Art Basel. He’s also been serving HEXAGON streetwear collabs with Disney, Netflix, and Lucasfilm, and hosting his globally syndicated Hexagon Radio for over eight years.
CONTROL ALT DΞLΞTΞ isn’t just a side project, it’s a full-on creative reset. The alias, named after the infamous keyboard command, lets Don ditch his usual four-to-the-floor sound and craft something sharper, darker, and totally unapologetic.
With the Monstercat release of ‘Amsterdam’ and a nostalgic Paradiso show locked in, it’s crystal clear that Don Diablo isn’t just resting on his success, he’s evolving, innovating, and leading from the front.
