One of the most prestigious horse races in the world is almost upon us, with the 2025 Epsom Derby taking place this weekend.

The Derby, which was first run in 1780, is an iconic flat race that sees horses given one chance to write their names in the history books.

Only three-year-olds can compete in the race that is run over a mile and a half, and this year, winning connections will take home an incredible £918,702.

City of Troy came out on top in 2024 under Ryan Moore, with the jockey making it back-to-back victories following a win riding Auguste Rodin in 2023.

His ride this weekend is Delacroix and the horse is the current favourite, but Ruling Court and Price of Arras are tipped to be contenders too.
