No clarity emerged on the portfolios to be allocated to the newly inducted Ministers, even after an hour-long meeting of the Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy with All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal in New Delhi.
The new Ministers were expecting some positive result on the allocation of the portfolios. However, a final decision is likely to come after the Chief Minister’s meeting with AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday (June 10, 2025).
The Chief Minister apparently briefed Mr. Venugopal on the mood within the party after the inclusion of G. Vivek Venkatswamy, Vakiti Srihari, and Adluri Laxman Kumar in the Cabinet.
The meeting also addressed the brewing discontent among some Congress aspirants, particularly from the influential Reddy community, who were disappointed at being overlooked in the Cabinet formation. They are said to have discussed the fall out of the dissent.
With the Cabinet reshuffle completed, both leaders are believed to have discussed the feasibility of holding the long-pending local body elections in the State. Mr. Reddy also took the opportunity to provide an overview of the current political climate in Telangana.
During the scheduled meeting with Mr. Kharge on Tuesday, the Chief Minister plans to highlight how the induction of four ministers from Scheduled Caste (SC) communities for the first time in Telangana’s history will send a strong signal on the party’s seriousness on social justice.
