New Delhi: Strengthening its presence in northern India, Fortis Healthcare announced plans to onboard a 550-bed super specialty hospital in Lucknow.
The corporate hospital chain has entered into a collaboration agreement with Ekana Group to oversee the operations and management (O&M) of the greenfield facility, which will be constructed near Gomti Nagar.
According to the company, the upcoming hospital will be developed as a Centre of Excellence for tertiary care services, marking Fortis’ third facility in Uttar Pradesh after Noida and Greater Noida. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Currently, Fortis operates more than 5,700 beds across 33 facilities—including joint ventures and O&M hospitals—spread across 11 states, along with a network of 400 diagnostics labs.
“This development will significantly enhance access to advanced medical care and marks Fortis Healthcare’s third major presence in Uttar Pradesh,” said Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD & CEO, Fortis Healthcare.
Echoing this, Uday Sinha, Promoter, Ekana Group, said, “The tertiary care hospital will enhance access to advanced services and deliver quality patient care where it’s most needed.”
The move aligns with a broader industry trend of corporate hospital chains expanding their footprints across Tier-II cities to meet rising demand for advanced healthcare closer to underserved populations.
