The Health authorities said that there had been a spike in vector breeding in houses. Refrigerator trays, indoor potted plants, and stagnant water collected in plastic sheets were found to be the primary sources of indoor vector breeding. Rainwater stagnation should be prevented on the premises of houses to check vector breeding, they said.
The district public health committee has stressed the need to create awareness among the public to keep their premises clean and avoid situations that may result in an increase in infectious diseases.
