Fresh & Ready Foods has issued a voluntary recall for some of their ready-to-eat sandwiches and snack items sold in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Washington due to the risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
This recall impacts products distributed between April 18, 2025, and April 28, 2025, with “Use By” dates between April 22, 2025, and May 19, 2025. The affected items were primarily sold in vending and breakroom areas within corporate offices, medical buildings, and healthcare facilities across the four states.
The recall came after environmental monitoring by the FDA found traces of Listeria monocytogenes on equipment during an inspection. While no illnesses have been reported, Fresh & Ready Foods is taking immediate action to remove contaminated equipment and ensure the safety of future products. The company is committed to correcting the issue and complying with FDA guidelines.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe infections, particularly in young children, elderly adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may experience symptoms like fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Pregnant women are at a higher risk, as the bacteria can lead to miscarriages or stillbirths. Even though no one has reported sickness from the recalled products, Fresh & Ready Foods is issuing this recall as a precautionary measure.
Consumers who purchased the affected sandwiches and snacks should check the “Use By” dates printed clearly on the product packaging. If you have any of these items in your possession, dispose of them immediately. For any concerns or to request a refund, Fresh & Ready Foods has set up a customer support line. You can reach them at 1-855-424-8390 or email them at [email protected] during business hours.
This recall highlights the importance of staying vigilant about food safety, especially when it comes to ready-to-eat foods that we might take for granted. Fresh & Ready Foods is committed to fixing the issue and preventing any future risks. If you’ve bought one of these products, don’t wait, check your fridge and act fast to stay safe.
