The FSL report on the death of a 15-year-old speech and hearing impaired girl in Ramanagara has ruled out the possibility of sexual assault on her, said the police .

The victim was found dead near a railway track near Bhadrapura Hakki Pikki colony in a disrobed condition on May 11. Villagers alleged she had been sexually assaulted and murdered brutally. Some of them even ran a campaign online alleging that the body had cigarette burn marks and bite marks.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the police registered a case of murder. They collected as many as 32 samples and sent them to the FSL for detailed analysis, which reportedly ruled out the sexual assault theory.

However, the police are awaiting post mortem report to ascertain the cause of death.

The body had multiple injuries on the head and others parts. The police, based on prima facie probe, said that it could have been an accident . “However, the post mortem report will confirm the cause of death,” the police said.

Superintendent of Police, Ramanagara, R. Srinivas Gowda confirmed that the FSL report ruled out the sexual assault. “We have detained as many as 10 people and questioned them so far, but no one has been arrested so far,” he said.

The girl, studying in class 8 at a residential school, had come to her house on vacation. She went to a birthday function in the neighbouring house and has been missing since then. The family and villagers, after searching the whole night, filed a missing complaint with the Bidadi police before recovering the body near the railway track.

She is survived by her mother and three differently abled siblings. .
