Nearly 78 companies have visited the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) so far as part of the campus placement this season.
Nine companies had offered salary packages above ₹10 lakh per annum. The highest cost-to-company offered this year was ₹20.1 lakh, while the lowest was ₹3 lakh. The average annual pay package was ₹5.40 lakh, according to a release.
Dr. Gireeshkumaran Thampi, Chief Placement Officer, said that this year’s placement drive has been particularly encouraging with a broader representation across academic disciplines, especially from the core branches.
The students of the Safety and Fire Engineering and MBA programmes have recorded the highest placement rates, while BTech Computer Science and Information Technology streams witnessed about 80% to 90% placement. There was a significant increase in placement opportunities for the core engineering branches, including Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, along with M.Tech and M.Sc programmes.
The leading recruiters included BPCL, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Adani Enterprises, TATA Projects, IBM, MRF, Ernst & Young, UST Global, TATA Elxsi, SOBHA Constructions, L&T Construction, TATA Consulting Engineers, Visteon, Alstom, Reliance Industries, TATA Power, IOCL, GAIL, Worley, Cairn Oil, Federal Bank, Gulf Asia, Vedanta, Mahindra & Mahindra, Daikin India, Hitachi, Bharat Electronics Limited, and Arabian Coast, according to the communication.
