Naomi Osaka is out of the French Open.
The four-time Grand Slam champion suffered a first-round exit at the hands of Paula Badosa on Monday, losing 7-6, 6-1, 6-4, and the emotional Japanese star admitted this was a painful defeat.

Osaka made 54 unforced errors in the end, twice more than her opponent, as she failed to control the match after winning the first set.
In the end, she was broken five times and finished with as many double faults.
In her press conference after the game, Osaka was emotional as she began crying before needing to leave the room early.
“I hate disappointing people,” she said.
“Even with Patrick (Mouratoglou) I was thinking just now that he goes from working with like the greatest player ever to like… what the f*** this is.”
