Justice K. Lakshman of Telangana High Court on Monday directed the HC Registry to list before his bench the criminal revision petition filed by IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre Y. Srilakshmi who was among the accused in Obulapuram Mining Company case, involving charges of illegal mining.
The judge passed this direction during the hearing of bail petitions filed by Gali Janardhan Reddy and others, convicted and awarded a seven-year jail term in OMC case. The CBI special court dismissed a petition filed by the IAS seeking a direction to discharge her as accused in the case.
Challenging this, the top bureaucrat moved the HC which allowed her revision petition setting aside the special court order. The CBI moved the Supreme Court stating that the order was passed without considering their contention. The apex court remanded back the revision case filed by the IAS officer to the HC.
