This is Indiana’s first appearance in the Finals since 2000, when they were beaten in six games against Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal’s Los Angeles Lakers.

Meanwhile, for the Thunder, they are the second-youngest team to reach the finals over the last 70 seasons and MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is eyeing glory.

He will be aiming to win the ring that the incredible trio of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden failed to bring back to Oklahoma City.

NBA Finals: What has been said?

Speaking after the Pacers reached the NBA Finals, Haliburton said: “I’m really proud of this group. We had a tough showing last game as a group. We wanted to respond.

“We did a great job of that. I’m just so proud of this group, and I don’t even have words right now.”

Eastern Conference Finals MVP, Pascal Siakam, added: “After a bad Game 5, we wanted to bounce back.

“And I have 100 per cent belief in my teammates. Whenever we’re down, we always find a way and we did that tonight.”

Meanwhile, Thunder superstar Gilgeous-Alexander didn’t want to focus too much on their Western Conference success.

He said: “This is a step in the right direction but we have a lot more work to do to get to our ultimate goal, so let’s buckle up and get ready

“That’s all that I’m focused on. This isn’t the end of our road.”
