Ex-Napoli star Gianfranco Zola has questioned Manchester United’s decision to sell Serie A superstar Scott McTominay.
The midfielder won the Serie A MVP Award after inspiring his side to their fourth league triumph on Friday.

McTominay opened the scoring in a 2-0 win over Cagliari as Napoli pipped Inter Milan to top spots.
Following the victory, wild celebrations erupted in Naples which continued over the weekend.
The latest honour bestowed on McTominay has seen a shrine appear at a church in the city centre.
A mural depicting the Scotland international’s face and his nickname ‘McFratm’ now adorn the San Nicola al Nilo church.
It comes after McTominay and his team-mates met Pope Leo in the Vatican this week.
The visit followed an open-top bus parade through the city at the weekend to mark the club’s title victory.
McTominay was filmed smoking and singing during the parade before dancing at an after party.
Following his arrival from Manchester United last summer, the 28-year-old became an immediate fan favourite.
In 34 Serie A appearances, McTominay scored 12 goals and provided six assists from midfield for Antonio Conte’s side.
Meanwhile, Gianfranco Zola remains stunned by United’s decision to let the academy graduate leave the club.

Asked about the title victory, the former Napoli forward told Breakfast: “That was fantastic.
“When Napoli win something in football, it’s like a national holiday. It’s been incredible. On top of that, I was so pleased that probably the main player is McTominay.
“Sometimes I cannot believe a player like McTominay is being released and allowed to go and play in a team like Napoli. Really, I don’t understand.”
McTominay had spent 22 years at Old Trafford after joining the Red Devils as a youngster.
During that time, he went on to win both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup after breaking into the first-team.
As for Zola, he also spent four years with Napoli during his playing career.
The Italian legend scored 36 goals in 135 appearances for the club between 1989 and 1993.
He was also part of the side which won the Scudetto in his debut season alongside Diego Maradona.
