Emma Raducanu remains in the dark as to whether Andy Murray has forgiven her over last year’s Wimbledon fiasco.

The pair were due to play mixed doubles together at the All England Club in what was Murray’s final grand slam before retirement.

However, Raducanu withdrew due to wrist soreness as she chose to focus on her singles draw.

The decision denied Murray one final appearance at Wimbledon, with a defeat in the men’s doubles alongside his brother Jamie his last match in SW19.

Murray’s mother, Judy, labelled Raducanu’s withdrawal ‘astonishing’ on social media, although she later claimed her response was sarcastic.

Although Raducanu insisted she had ‘smoothed things over’ with Murray after they bumped into each other at the Australian Open, she still feels guilty about what happened at Wimbledon.

However, speaking at the French Open, she ruled out being coached by Murray following his recent split with Novak Djokovic.

“I hope he’s forgiven me for last year, I still feel bad about it,” Raducanu said.

“I’m looking forward to seeing him around and having a conversation.

“I think he would give great advice, he’s been in a similar situation and would probably understand a lot of things that I’m also going through.

“But as to anything more, I don’t know, that’s very far out of thought.”

Although Murray is no longer Djokovic’s coach, he won’t be left twiddling his thumbs as he revealed he’d become an associate partner at a London-based investment firm.

As for Raducanu, she intends to continue with Mark Petchey as her part-time coach for the French Open and Wimbledon.

However, Petchey, who also coached Murray as a youngster, may not be able to attend all of Raducanu’s matches due to his TV commitments.

Petchey was in Raducanu’s coaching box alongside Jane O’Donoghue for the 22-year-old’s impressive run to the quarter-finals of the Miami Open.

O’Donoghue will remain part of Raducanu’s coaching team, with Tom Walsh also jumping on board for Roland Garros.

When quizzed about how busy Petchey’s schedule would be in Paris, Raducanu conceded she was unsure but knew it was going to be jam-packed regardless.

However, she felt the 54-year-old has helped her to become ‘a lot more self-sufficient’.

“I think for him it’s a great opportunity to keep doing what he does so well and at the same time have fun hopefully being on court with me,” Raducanu said.

“I have Tom here who is going to help and Jane, when he isn’t available. And that’s how its going to go.

“I think being a lot more self-sufficient is something Mark has helped me with the last few weeks.

“Since Miami I think one thing that is a great sign of a coach is when you don’t necessarily feel like you need them every shot, every point, so he’s really helped me to figure things out for myself.”
