Halsey just gave fans a peek into her love life with Avan Jogia, and it’s all kinds of magical.
The singer, 30, celebrated the one-year anniversary of Avan Jogia’s proposal with a super sweet and artsy Instagram reel, and yeah, we’re kinda obsessed. The Graveyard hitmaker revealed that Jogia, 33, actually popped the question on May 26, 2024, even though she didn’t confirm their engagement publicly until that September.
“Today is 1 yr since the dark magic worked and this fine a– man asked me to marry him. Be still my beating heart 🧚🏼,” she wrote in the caption of her post on Sunday, May 26.
The reel isn’t your typical engagement tribute, it doubles as a moody, glam advertisement for Halsey’s makeup brand, about-face. In the reel, Halsey and Jogia are rocking glittery pink eye makeup while making out, slurping noodles, and wandering through a grocery store. It’s edgy, chaotic, and so very them. The whole thing is set to “It’s In My Head” by Provoker, adding just the right amount of dreamy weirdness.
The two first sparked dating rumors when they were spotted on a date in L.A. back in September 2023. One month later, Halsey basically confirmed their relationship by sharing a carousel of cozy pics with the Victorious alum. Fast forward to February 2024, and Jogia was already gushing about being engaged in an interview with PEOPLE.
“One of the great joys of being with someone who’s an artist is being able to make art with them,” Jogia said at the time. “To go back and forth about the art that they’re making and how you can contribute and be helpful, and them being able to contribute and be helpful to your own art… that’s one of the joys of it, for sure.”

Once they landed in Spain, the couple decided to hop on a boat because, in her words, “we both love boats.”
With the sun blazing, the ocean shimmering, and both of them “sun drunk,” Halsey assumed the romantic moment might not actually happen. “We were sitting next to each other, and he was like, ‘Come down on the floor,’” she recalled. “So I got down on the floor of this boat, and he pulled out the ring.”
Then came the coolest proposal line ever: “What’s a little bit of marriage between friends?”
To which Halsey replied, “Yeah, I’ll do a little bit of marriage with you. I’d prefer to do a lot of it.” That’s the kind of romantic chaos we live for.
