A major recall has been issued for RM Refresher Instant Milk Tea products sold on Amazon after the discovery of undeclared milk content in their ingredient list.
R&M Trading LLC of Lakewood, WA announced the recall after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found that milk-derived ingredients were included in the tea’s non-dairy creamer, without clearly listing “milk” as an allergen. The recall affects over 2,000 packages, putting consumers with milk allergies at serious risk.
According to the company, 408 individual 1lb packs and 1,624 3-pack bundles of the tea are affected. These were sold on Amazon between November 18, 2024, and May 7, 2025. Though no illnesses have been reported yet, people with a milk allergy or severe sensitivity could experience life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the product.
The tea contains whey and caseinate, which are milk proteins, but the packaging fails to declare “milk” explicitly, a legal requirement under U.S. food labeling regulations. The oversight was discovered during an FDA inspection through its Office of Global Policy and Strategy in China. This prompted the urgent recall with full FDA knowledge and support.
Consumers who purchased any of the affected tea products should not drink them and are advised to return the product to the point of purchase, mainly Amazon, for a full refund. Anyone with questions may contact the company directly via email at [email protected].

Even though the ingredient list included whey and caseinate, consumers unfamiliar with food science wouldn’t immediately know those are derived from milk. This kind of labeling error is a direct violation of FDA allergen disclosure requirements. That’s why the agency acted fast to bring attention to the issue.
Milk allergies are among the most common food allergies in both children and adults, and they can cause serious symptoms ranging from hives and vomiting to life-threatening anaphylaxis. That’s why it’s critical that allergens are properly labeled, especially in packaged foods like these.
RM Refresher’s milk tea line is popular for its variety of flavors and ease of preparation, and its Amazon presence makes it widely accessible. But until the labeling is fixed, consumers, especially those with allergies, should take no risks.
