Jana Duggar has some great news to share, she’s having a baby!
The Counting On alum, 35, announced that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Stephen Wissmann. The couple shared the news on Instagram, posting a romantic series of photos that included a kiss and a look at Jana’s blossoming baby bump.
“We are so thrilled, January 2026 is going to arrive with a little bundle of happiness being welcomed into our family!” the couple captioned their post.
The pregnancy announcement comes just a year after Jana and Wissmann said their vows in a lovely wedding ceremony in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. The pair married at The Grand at Willow Springs in front of 500 friends and family members back in August 2024. Jana’s sister Jessa Duggar Seewald was maid of honor, while some of her sisters, such as Joy-Anna Forsyth and Jinger Duggar Vuolo, were bridesmaids.
Jana, the eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s daughters, had once questioned whether she would ever get married. When she sat down with PEOPLE shortly before she tied the knot last year, she shared how long it took her to become marriage-ready.
“For me, it felt like, ‘Okay, it’s never coming.’ But now it’s starting to sink in,” Jana said at the time. “Reality is starting to set in. And I’m like, ‘Wow, this truly is something that I’ve dreamed of.’”
The road to marriage was one that Jana approached cautiously, but Wissmann, who comes from another large Christian family, showed patience and persistence. “I had been a slower mover on it, but just over time, his character, his coming back, still loving me no matter what … I’m like, my goodness, there are not too many people that do that,” she explained.
Now that a baby is on the way, the couple is getting ready for the next major chapter in their lives. Followers of the Duggar family have already started sending congratulatory messages, filling up social media with good wishes for the would-be parents.
Jana and Stephen haven’t revealed whether they’re having a boy or girl, but one thing is sure, the Duggar family is going to welcome another small one into their already large family fold.
