JoJo Siwa is happier than ever and she’s making it clear, her relationship with Chris Hughes is real, deep, and not up for debate.
After meeting during the UK edition of Celebrity Big Brother, JoJo, 22, and Chris, 32, formed a bond that’s since grown into something far beyond friendship.
In a recent interview with E! News, the Karma singer said she’s never second guessed her feelings for the former Love Island star. She shared, “I don’t need to explain myself because I feel so in the right position. I feel so content with my happiness, and I feel so relaxed and at ease with where I’m at.”
JoJo, who previously identified as a lesbian, has now said she identifies as queer, a move that’s brought both support and criticism. But she’s not letting public opinion get to her. “The love I feel is so real and so in front of me,” she said. “I just feel pure and joyous. I don’t feel like I have to give off any sort of energy, I just radiate right now.”
JoJo and Chris insisted during Big Brother that they were only “platonic soulmates,” but things took a turn after the cameras stopped rolling. “After Big Brother, there was no other way. It was so crystal clear,” JoJo told E!. “We get along really well. We have so much fun together. We understand and complement each other. We’re patient with each other.”
Asked what first drew her to him, JoJo joked, “Two things: I have no idea and absolutely everything.” She gushed, “When I think about him, I’m full of pure joy, and when I speak about him, I’m full of pure joy.”
The singer also spoke to The Guardian recently, confirming the romantic shift in their relationship. “It’s not platonic anymore, and it’s been a beautiful development,” she said. “I’m absolutely head over heels for him and he’s the same way.”
She also addressed critics who think the relationship is just for show. “Clearly, you’ve never been around us,” she fired back. “For me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me. Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks, I’ve never been in pain from smiling so much.”
JoJo ended her relationship with Kath Ebbs shortly after exiting the Big Brother house, and she said she “can’t imagine [her] world without sweet Christopher boy.” It’s clear that her connection with Chris is more than just a showmance, it’s real, and JoJo’s joy says it all.
