Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, in a post on X on Wednesday, said that June 4 was the day when tyrants were overthrown by a people’s revolution; when a “psycho” rule came to an end, and every citizen regained freedom and peace; and when people voted like a movement and restored democracy in the State.

Mr. Naidu further said it was a day when a State, wounded by government-sponsored terror, was handed over to the alliance, marking a new beginning for welfare, development and good governance. A day when the State triumphed through the struggles of the Pasupu Sainyam (Yellow Army), the movements of Jana Sainiks and the support of Kamalanaths (BJP followers), he said.

One year ago, the mandate given by the people was taken as a responsibility to rebuild the State. “Since then, we have been working every single day — putting governance back on track, delivering welfare and setting development in motion — to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people and to honour the trust they placed in us,” he said.

“On this first anniversary of that decisive victory, which changed the course and direction of the State, I bow my head in gratitude and offer heartfelt salutations to the people,” he said, adding: “We promise to initiate many more welfare and development programmes in the coming four years. Congratulations and thanks to all the workers and leaders of the Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party, who played a key role in the relentless struggle against destructive rulers and laid the foundation for the alliance’s victory.”
