Luke Humphries thanked Phil Taylor for his advice after beating Luke Littler to claim the 2025 Premier League Darts title.

The world number one successfully halted Littler’s attempt to win back-to-back Premier League titles at London’s O2 Arena

Beating ‘The Nuke’ 11-8, Humphries secured his maiden Premier League title and a £275k jackpot.

In doing so, the 30 year-old becomes one of only four players in PDC history to have won a darts’ Triple Crown, which also includes World Championship and World Matchplay.

He joins an exclusive club made up of darting royalty Phil Taylor, Michael Van Gerwen and Gary Anderson.

Delighted as he sealed the victory, Humphries sent a direct message to fellow Triple Crown holder Taylor.

“This one means the world to me, that was the one I was missing. It was the one I wanted, I have done it now,” said Humphries to Sky Sports.

“If I don’t win another title, I am happy as I have done the three hardest ones to do.

“Phil Taylor has given me a lot of support over the last couple of weeks so, Phil, if you are watching, thank you.

“He gave me a lot of advice and that extra support.”

Taylor was the first player to win a career Triple Crown after winning the first Premier League event in 2005.

The 16-time world champion remains the only player to have won all three events in the same year, doing so in 2006 and 2010.

Teenager sensation Littler was denied his hunt to claim consecutive Premier League titles.

The 18-year-old faced Gerwyn Price in the semi finals and emerging victorious with a 10-7 win, despite trailing 6-4 at the break.

Humphries saw off Nathan Aspinall by the same scoreline in their semi final to book his place in the final.

Speaking to talkSPORT after the win, Humphries explained how it felt to win the title he has been chasing all year.

“I’m really proud,” said Humphries.

“I’ve managed to reach the targets I had in both years. In 2023, I didn’t really have targets, maybe to win a major, and I did that. Then I won the worlds.

“Then in 2024, it was more about trying to get a match play or the World Cup and I did both.

“This year was all about winning the Premier League and I’ve managed to do that.

“I know that it’s not an assertive thing to say as a Triple Crown. But, in my mind, it’s the three toughest tournaments to win.

“The World Championships, the Match Play, and the Premier League. Only four people have ever done it and there’s been some good players over the years.”

Last night both Humphries and Littler were unhappy with the draught on the O2 Arena stage, claiming the wind was impacting their throws.

When asked about the conditions, Humphries said: “I won the title, so I don’t want to be too negative about it.

“There was a hard situation in that game. I think everyone knows what we’re talking about.

“Luke was saying we both have quiet darts, so a bit of a breeze can really affect us. And it did.

“That’s why it’s disappointing, because you want to perform for the fans, and we just couldn’t in that first session.

“When you see us together at the first break, Luke said, ‘I’m happy it’s 5-5, because it’s been hard for us both’. But then when it stopped, we managed to really come out and show our worth.

“I’m glad that the fans got a really good game in the end.”
